The Invitation

Welcome to the Gospel Tent Professional Development Series.

A city-wide free gospel artist development workshop, open to solo artists, choirs, praise teams, musicians, worship leaders, ministers of music, and emerging performers at every stage.

On behalf of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Gospel Tent, thank you for joining us for this Professional Development Workshop. Every year, thousands of artists dream of performing before audiences that appreciate excellence, authenticity, and meaningful artistry. The Festival is one of those stages, but the lessons of this workshop extend far beyond a single event.

This workshop was created to help you strengthen the areas of your career that are within your control. You cannot control every opportunity, programming decision, budget, schedule, or artistic need.

You can control your preparation. Your professionalism. Your presentation. Your reputation. Those are the qualities that build lasting careers.

We'll explore practical habits that make artists stronger candidates for festivals, churches, theaters, schools, community organizations, and performing arts venues, presenting yourself professionally, developing compelling programs, communicating effectively, building meaningful relationships, and preparing for opportunities long before they arrive.

This workshop is not about promising bookings. It is about preparing artists.

Because preparation creates confidence. Confidence builds professionalism. Professionalism earns trust. Trust creates opportunity.
